In the first part of the KnowItAll Software series, we will look at 5 primary functions: ProcessIt, SearchIt, MineIt, MS Expert and ChemWindow.

The NIST hybrid search of MS libraries is a greatly improved search algorithm. It generates a similarity score for both fragments and neutral losses. Thus extending the scope of commercial and user libraries.

A demo of AMDIS for processing EI GC-MS files is presented. In addition to the NIST Search software the components can be identified within AMDIS using either commercial or user libraries.

A demo of NIST MS exact and similar structure search for finding model compounds is presented. A user can use their preferred drawing programs for inputting structures into the NIST MS Search program.

A demo of NIST MS search for identifying components in EI GC-MS analyses is presented. The data is acquired on a variety of GC-MS systems then sent to the NIST MS search for processing.
