The Mass Spectra of Geochemicals, Petrochemicals and Biomarkers library offers 1,093 high-quality spectra of well-defined compounds, ideal for organic, geo-, and petrochemical analysis. Structures were confirmed using techniques such as NMR and x-ray crystallography.
Collected by J. W. de Leeuw’s team at NIOZ, the data supports studies on biomacromolecules, lipid diagenesis, and organic sulfur chemistry. Compounds were carefully purified and span classes such as hydrocarbons, terpenes, steroids, and sulfur/oxygen compounds.
