Mass Spectra of Designer Drugs 2026 is an annually updated GC-MS spectral library designed to support forensic, clinical, and toxicological laboratories in identifying illicit and emerging psychoactive substances. The database contains 37,075 mass spectra representing 27,900 unique compounds, including opioids, fentanyl analogs, cannabinoids, amphetamines, cathinones, benzodiazepines, steroids, and many other designer drugs, metabolites, precursors, and related compounds.
The 2026 release adds more than 700 new spectra and over 400 new compounds, with expanded coverage of nitazenes, fentanyls, synthetic cannabinoids, and other emerging substances through December 2025. Data are compiled in cooperation with criminal investigation departments and international partners, with spectra verified using reference libraries and spectral interpretation.
The library includes detailed chemical structures, Kovats retention indices, and high-quality spectral data (average quality index 965). It is widely used by crime laboratories, medical examiners, border control agencies, and other forensic organizations supporting law enforcement activities worldwide.
The database is compatible with major GC-MS vendor formats and is also available through Wiley KnowItAll software for multi-platform spectral analysis.
