Extractable Leachable Analysis Unknown Compound Identification: What Level of Confidence is Acceptable from Personal Databases to MS/MS Structural Software Tools

RECORD | Already taken place We, 21.4.2021
In this webinar we compare the performance of MS-Dial, SIRIUS CSI:FingerID, NIST 2020, and the EPA Chemicals Dashboard with CFMID to accurately determine the structure of E/L compounds.

Agilent Technologies: Extractable Leachable Analysis Unknown Compound Identification: What Level of Confidence is Acceptable from Personal Databases to MS/MS Structural Software Tools

This presentation is designed to investigate how the use of high resolution MSMS data could be used first to determine the elemental composition of the impurity, then to determine the elemental composition of the fragment ions. For unknown compounds we compared the ability of online and offline MSMS searching software that utilizes in-silico MSMS to determine potential compound structure.

Presenter: David Weil, PhD (Senior Applications Scientist, Agilent Technologies, Inc.)

Dr. Weil received a B.S. in Chemistry (Drake University) and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry (University of Minnesota with Professor David Dixon). Postdoctoral Fellow (University of California-Riverside with Professor Charles Wilkins). Dr. Weil’s diverse employment history started as a Research Chemist at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (Akron, OH), four years an Application Scientist at Nicolet/Extrel FTMS (Madison, WI), 14 years Mass Spectrometry Group Leader at 3M (St. Paul, MN). Since 2004, Dr. Weil has worked at Agilent Technologies (Chicago, IL) as a Senior Applications Scientist. Throughout his career Dr. Weil has focused on scientific achievement but more importantly has acted as mentor and educator to those around him.
