Thermo Scientific: Increased confidence in peptide identification and quantification using Thermo Scientific Proteome Discoverer 2.5 software and INFERYS Rescoring

We will show the benefits of the INFERYS Rescoring algorithm for improved confidence in search results, focusing on metaproteomic and immunopeptidomic data analysis.

This session includes a presentation, a short expert panel introduction and importantly, time set aside for our experts to respond to your questions in the Q&A.

Presenter: David Horn, Ph.D. (Product Manager, Proteome Discoverer, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

David Horn is the product manager of the Proteome Discoverer software and has previously managed the Protein Deconvolution and ProSightPC software products. He also has experience as an algorithm developer/software scientist. He earned his Ph.D. at Cornell University in the McLafferty lab developing new acquisition methods and algorithms for top down protein characterization.

Presenter: Khatereh Motamedchabuki, Ph.D. (Sr. Vertical Marketing Specialist, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Khatereh is a proteomics vertical marketing scientist at Thermo Fischer Scientific, working on cutting edge technologies like Single Cell Proteomics and developing advanced proteomics workflows on new LCMS product platforms. Prior to Thermo Fisher Scientific Khatereh was the Director of the NCI- Designated Cancer Center Proteomics Core at Sanford Burnham Preby’s Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla for 10 years building a successful proteomics core. She was a key contributor to development of BioID: A Screening method for mapping Protein‐Protein Interactions and N-Terminomics workflow for protease substrates identification. She has many scientific contributions in the field of Discovery and Targeted Proteomics, Protein PTM analysis and Protein Interactions and past industry experience in LCMS integrated solution marketing for BioPharma and metabolomics field.

Presenter: Sergei I. Snovida, Ph.D. (R&D Scientist III, Protein Analysis Reagents - Biosciences Division, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Sergei Snovida has developed many of the products for MS, including TMT reagents, instrument calibration solutions, and various sample preparation kits for proteomics experiments. Prior to obtaining his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Manitoba (Canada), he worked as a analytical QC scientist at several pharma and industrial chemical companies. Sergei postdoc(ed) at Academia Sinica (Taiwan) where he worked on the development of new MS techniques for glycomics and glycoproteomics workflows. His professional interests include separations, peptides & carbohydrates, experimental design, and analytical method development and optimization in general.
