Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) is advancing as a practical route to decarbonization by converting CO₂ into fuels, chemicals, and materials. Effective deployment depends on accurate analysis of process gases to maximize capture efficiency and verify utilization outcomes.

This session will demonstrate how gas chromatography (GC) supports precise measurement of CO₂, syngas components such as CO, H₂, and CH₄, along with trace contaminants that influence process performance. Examples will highlight workflows that span large-scale capture facilities to laboratory-scale research, showing how different GC platforms address varied needs.

Agilent’s portfolio, from benchtop Smart GC systems to compact Micro GC solutions, enables rapid and dependable quantification of CO₂ reduction products. By linking analytical capability to CCU pathways, the session will provide a perspective on how gas characterization supports scalable and reliable carbon utilization.

Presenter:  Dr. Shruthi Kini (GC/GCMS Product Specialist, Agilent Technologies, Singapore)

Dr. Shruthi Kini holds a Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She first gained experience with Agilent’s instruments as a customer, before joining Agilent in 2021. Shruthi currently serves as a Product Specialist for GC and GC/MS solutions, supporting Singapore and South Asia.

Originally a Research Scientist, she has in-depth knowledge of Agilent’s GC and GC/MS systems, with expertise in method development, method transfer, and validation for a wide range of analytical samples, including flavor compounds, edible oils, microbial, and clinical samples.
