Agenda

  • Identification of xenobiotics in biological matrices using GC-HRMS: benefits of integrating EI/CI ionization and advanced data processing with a molecular network, Romain Magny, Hopital Lariboisiere, France
  • Small molecule profiling of blood for exposure and effect with GC Orbitrap MS. Elliott Price, Recetox, Czech Republic
  • Extractables and Leachables Screening with HRAM: Cutting-Edge Solutions for Unmatched Compound Identification. Ulli Hohenester, Solvias, Switzerland

Presenter: Dr Romain Magny (Associate Professor, Hôpital Lariboisière)

Dr. Romain Magny is an Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry and a Pharmacist working in the Clinical Toxicology Laboratory at Lariboisière Hospital in Paris. His research focuses on the development of new approaches using high-resolution mass spectrometry for the identification of xenobiotics in biological samples, with a particular emphasis on emerging psychoactive substances.

Presenter: Dr Elliott Price (Assistant Professor, Masaryk University)

Elliott J. Price, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Human Exposome research group & head of the Biomarker Analytical Laboratories (BAL) at RECETOX, Masaryk University. The core research focus of his teams is: 1. Characterising human exposure to chemical agents via high-resolution mass spectrometry, 2. Developing quantitative mass spectrometry assays for clinically-relevant proteins & metabolites, 3. Advancing data processing methods for mass-spectrometry chemical profiling data.

Presenter: Dr Ulli Hohenester (Team leader E&L and HRAM Trace analysis, Solvias, Switzerland, Solvias)

With over 20 years of experience in mass spectrometry and structure elucidation, Dr. Ulli Hohenester is a leading expert in Extractables and Leachables (E&L) analysis. Heading the E&L service at Solvias AG in Basel, Switzerland, he advances workflows combining untargeted screening with targeted analysis. His expertise in small molecules, metabolites, and protein modifications makes him pivotal in developing innovative analytical techniques. Passionate about mass spectrometry, Dr. Hohenester is committed to scientific excellence and sharing his knowledge through teaching and mentoring.

Presenter: Dominic Roberts (Product Marketing Manager GC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Dominic Roberts has been integral to the GC Orbitrap MS since its launch in 2015, starting as a Senior Applications Specialist and now serving as Product Marketing Manager for Orbitrap Exploris GC Series. With over 25 years of experience in analytical chemistry and mass spectrometry, Dominic has applied cutting-edge GC–MS and LC–MS systems to analyze chemicals in food, biological, and environmental samples.
