Thermo Fisher Scientific: Analytical Possibilities Before, During and After the Recycling of Lithium Ion Batteries
Thermo Fisher Scientific: Analytical Possibilities Before, During and After the Recycling of Lithium Ion Batteries

Analytical methods are frequently applied for the characterization of lithium ion batteries. However, additionally they are valuable for the recycling of lithium ion batteries as well. Whether it´s the initial assessment, along the processes or monitoring some of the waste streams. Here, we will present some of the applied techniques and the information, which can obtained.

There will also be the opportunity for a live Q&A with the speakers.

Learning points:

  • Lithium-ion battery recycling process
  • Role of analytical instrumentation in lithium-ion battery recycling
  • Guidance on what analytical instruments to employ during the recycling process

Who should attend:

  • Researchers in the field of lithium-ion batteries
  • Manufacturers of lithium-ion batteries
  • Users of analytical instruments in the battery market

Presenter: Dr. Sascha Nowak (Manager of Division Analytics and Environment, MEET - Münster Electrochemical Energy Technology, University of Münster)

Sascha Nowak studied chemistry at the University of Münster and got his PhD in Analytical Chemistry. After his doctorate, he joined the working group of Prof. Winter at the MEET Battery Research Center in 2009 as a postdoctoral researcher where he established the analytical department. From 2010-12 he was the head of the competence areas Analytics and Recycling and since 2012 he holds a position as scientific staff at the MEET Battery Research Center at Münster University as the head of the division Analytics and Environment.

Presenter: Simon Goeckler (Market Sales Specialist – Clean Energy
Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Simon Göckler, Market Sales Specialist for Clean Energy/EMEA at Thermo Fisher Scientific, graduated with a degree in food chemistry in 2005 and earned his PhD in 2009 at KIT. He joined Dionex the same year, gaining extensive experience in ion chromatography and other chromatography techniques. Simon has held various roles in instrument sales and business development. At Thermo Fisher, he focuses on the clean energy market, leveraging his expertise to drive growth and innovation.
