Shimadzu corporation: Enhancing Non-Targeted Screening In Challenging Matrices

Join us for an exciting launch as SepSolve Analytical and Shimadzu Asia Pacific unveil their new collaboration to deliver GCxGC–TOF MS solutions to the Asia Pacific region. In non-targeted screening of complex samples, every detail matters. Misidentifying compounds can lead to costly errors and wasted time. Unfortunately, conventional one-dimensional GC–MS struggles to fully resolve the complex chemical compositions found in petrochemical, food, and biological matrices. Frequent co-elution often result in low-confidence identifications or missed compounds altogether.

This webinar will provide an overview of how GCxGC–TOF MS addresses these challenges with enhanced separation, reliable compound identification, and advanced data analysis tools — enabling researchers to gain detailed insights with a new level of efficiency.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the future of non-targeted screening and explore how GCxGC-TOF MS can elevate your research! shimadzu gc/ms

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the benefits of GC×GC and the advantages of both flow and thermal modulation to upgrade Shimadzu Nexis GC-2030 to GC×GC capability
  • Discover the benefits of BenchTOF2 mass spectrometers for high sensitivity, confident identification, and user-friendly workflows
  • Learn how chemometric data analysis can automatically identify key features that distinguish between complex samples
  • See real-world applications, from analysis of sustainable fuels, to aroma profiling of food and beverages and essential oil comparisons

Presenter: Laura McGregor (Product Marketing Manager, SepSolve Analytical)

Laura McGregor completed a Ph.D. in Environmental Forensics at the University of Strathclyde in 2012. Her research interests included the chemical fingerprinting of coal tar contamination using GC×GC–TOF MS. In her current role at SepSolve Analytical, she oversees marketing activities for the full product portfolio and specialises in applying GC×GC and chemometrics to challenging samples.

Presenter: Jackie (Assistant Product Manager GC & GCMS, Shimadzu, Asia Pacific, Pte Ltd)

Jackie obtained his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the National University of Singapore, He has garnered over 10 years of research, training, and facilitation experience. Jackie meets scientists from various industries to share technical knowledge and collect feedback, understanding their problems and helping them find well-suited solutions in GC-related analyses.

Presenter: Anthony Buchanan (Portfolio Product Manager, SepSolve Analytical)

Anthony Buchanan received a master’s degree in Analytical Toxicology at King’s research contract labs using GC–MS. He joined SepSolve in 2018 as an Application Engineer and then Service Engineer, before becoming the Portfolio Product Manager for the GCxGC and TOF mass spectrometry technologies in 2022.
