The refining process is complex and continuous. Converting hundreds of barrels of crude oil per minute into its many products requires a highly integrated process.
Analytical laboratories employ many different tests to ensure process optimization, quality control, and regulatory compliance. Today's presentation covers many of those tests and the role that gas chromatography plays in keeping crude flowing into products while ensuring productivity, safety and quality.

Josh has been with Thermo Fisher Scientific since 2018. He has 15 years of refinery laboratory experience, including 10 years with Marathon Petroleum where he was a refinery GC Chemist in charge of LIMS administration, QC, method development, and equipment maintenance. He has also worked as a GC technical manager for a contract lab and a GC Field Service Engineer.
