Agilent: A Risk-Based Approach to Monitoring/Screening for Contaminants

Benefits of the MassHunter screener workflow in combination with GC/Q-TOF

Traditionally, targeted screening is “legislation driven” and monitors known and problematic analytes where we have already standard and retention time information. Typical techniques used involve triple quadrupole high-resolution instrumentations where triple quadrupoles still offer the best performance for sensitivity, dynamic range, and reproducibility.

However, the main problem with traditional approaches is the analysis is not retrospective and this limitation is becoming more and more important as new compounds and new threats emerge more frequently.

During this webinar, we’ll discuss the benefits and the drawbacks of the traditional approaches and present the advantages of a new approach that combines the MassHunter screener workflow and accurate mass data acquired on a GC/Q-TOF.

Presenter: Bryan White (GC/MS Product Specialist, Agilent Technologies)

Bryan has 37 years’ experience working with GC and GC/MS, his career started in Pesticide research developing methodologies for active ingredientand impurity analysis.

His first position in an instrument supply company was as European Marketing specialist for GC and GC/MS . A desire to more actively provide customized solutions resulted in him starting a solutions base company based on Agilent hardware before joining Agilent to work in his current position as GC and GC/MS Product Specialist for UK and Ireland.
