ThermoFisher Scientific: Roundtable: how should we be doing dioxin and POPs analysis?

Dioxin testing moves forward. Put your questions to our technical experts for Dioxins and POPs analysis in this roundtable webinar.

Magnetic Sector GC-HRMS has long been recognized as the instrumentation for meeting worldwide regulations and compliance. However, techniques such as GC-MS/MS or GC Orbitrap MS provide an alternative instrumental approach to this challenging application. As laboratories strive for high throughput, increasing scope of analysis and reduced cost of ownership, it is important to consider the merits and limitations of all three approaches for various sample types and performance criteria.

Join us (virtually) for an insightful roundtable webinar in which our applications specialists will discuss their experiences and answer your questions.

What you will learn:

  • Latest Thermo Scientific™ technology and analytical solutions for regulatory dioxins analysis
  • Regulations and challenges of dioxins analysis
  • Top tips on method set up and data review
  • Comparison of performance and benefits of each approach

Who should attend?

  • Analytical chemists focussed on food and contaminants analysis including dioxins/POPs
  • Laboratory managers and supervisors
  • Research chemists

You can submit your questions anytime in advance via email to [email protected].

Presenter: Nicholas Warner (Product Applications Specialist GC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Nicholas is a product specialist with a strong scientific background in GC and GC-MS applications. Originally from Canada, he has worked as an environmental researcher for 14 years within Norway before moving to join the Thermo Fisher Scientific team in Bremen, Germany in 2021. With a background in Environmental/Analytical chemistry, he is a specialist in the analysis of emerging harmful substances in the environment using gas chromatography mass spectrometry and high-resolution mass spectrometry.

Presenter: Paolo Benedetti (Product Marketing Manager GC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Paolo Benedetti holds a master degree in analytical chemistry from Sapienza Unversità di Roma. He was a research fellow at CNR and a consultant at CREA-ING before he joined Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2017 as a field service engineer. In 2018, he moved into his current role as Application Specialist for GC-GC/MS.

Presenter: Dominic Roberts (Product Marketing Manager GC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Dominic Roberts has been closely involved with the Thermo Scientific GC Orbitrap MS since its launch in 2015. He started at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Applications Specialist for the product and is currently the GC Orbitrap MS Marketing Manager. Dominic is an experienced analytical chemist and mass spectrometrist with more than 20 years of experience using state-of-the-art analytical systems. He has worked in both a regulatory and industrial environment with GC–MS and LC–MS systems to investigate a variety of chemicals in food, biological, and environmental samples.

Presenter: Dr. Heinz Mehlmann (Application Manager DFS Magnetic Sector GC-HRMS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Presenter: Giampaolo Panato (eco center SpA,)

Dott. Giampaolo Panato. graduated as a chemical technician and subsequently earned a master degree in industrial chemistry, I am responsible for the micro-pollutants' sector at eco center SpA laboratory. Among our interests is to ensure the low environmental impact of our facilities, including our waste-to-energy power plant, and to provide all the analytical support needed to maintain a clean environment for our communities.
