Separation Science: Ensure the Optimal Performance of Your GC/GC-MS: Tips and Features of the Brevis GC-2050 and GCMS-QP2050

Gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) have been in use for more than 60 years, consistently meeting the analytical performance demands of labs around the world.

With the ever-changing landscape of laboratory and analyst needs, instrument usability and space requirements are an acute focus and highly prioritized.

This webinar will highlight the maintenance operation critical to keeping your GC and GC-MS systems healthy. Along with these tips and tricks, this demonstration will also display how Shimadzu has reshaped the Brevis GC-2050 and GCMS-QP2050 to fit challenging laboratory requirements with simple operation, compact design, built-in analytical intelligence, and best-in-class performance.

By attending this presentation, you will learn:

  • maintenance tips for GC and GC-MS from experts
  • how built-in analytical intelligence can support high-throughput laboratory operations
  • how high-performing systems can optimize your workflow

Presenter: Ryo Takechi (Global GC Product Manager, Shimadzu Corporation)

Ryo Takechi majored in chemical engineering from Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, and now has more than ten years of experience in gas chromatography and engineering of analytical instrumentation.

Presenter: Alan Owens (GC and GC-MS Product Manager, Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc.)

Alan Owens is the GC and GC-MS Product Manager at Shimadzu Scientific Instruments. Alan joined Shimadzu in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry as a GC-MS product specialist before ascending to the role of product manager in 2021 for GC-MS and 2023 for GC. With over a decade of hands-on experience, Alan has established himself as a distinguished authority in gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
