Are you still using different sorbents for LC and GC?

A method development in SPE can be tricky, depending on your analytes, your matrix and the detection limits you need to reach and the technology you use to run your samples.

This webinar will show you how to develop an SPE method for LC-MS and GC-MS, which analyte and sorbent characteristics need to be taken into consideration and how to choose the right sorbent and format for your analytes.

Ion suppression is a big issue in LC-MS. Methodologies will be shown that allow to reduce this. Different materials such as silica based and polymeric will be utilized to serve different analytical technologies. Cleanliness is key in GC-MS.

The data presented is on Fentanyl and Nor-Fentanyl in urine samples and demonstrates different sorbent interactions but could easily be transferred to other relevant analytes in pharma and clinical research labs.

What you will learn:

  • Which SPE sorbents to use for which analytical technology
  • Ion Suppression and solutions to improve your results
  • Sorbent characteristics
  • LC and GC users looking to simplify their SPE

Who should attend:

  • Lab managers looking to simplify processes and reduce costs
  • Analytical chemists looking for better detection limits in complex matrices
  • Lab technicians looking for single method approaches
  • Anyone who considers SPE a challenge

Presenter: Petra Gerhards (Regional Marketing Manager EMEA CCS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Her background is over 30 years of experience in the field of GCMS, SPE and LCMS. Since joining the EMEA Regional Marketing Team for CCS she has been involved in many workflow solutions combining Vials and Closures with SPE solutions, GCMS and LCMS. She works with KOL`s on data for regional specific marketing campaigns, organizes inhouse seminars and works on customer specific solutions. Her main expertise is in the field of Doping and Drugs of Abuse analysis.
