Thermo Scientific: Learn in 30: GC-MS as a tool for battery component forensics

Join this short webinar to find out how using single quadrupole GC-MS or high resolution Orbitrap GC-MS supports multiple steps in the battery manufacturing value chain, from raw material screening and refining, through battery cell material research and QA/AC, to recycling and environmental analysis.

In attending this webinar, you will learn
  • An overview of how battery components can degrade, and the challenges associated with this essential analysis

  • Hear how GC-MS provides a solution to identify and quantify components over a wide concentration range

  • Learn how high resolution GC Orbitrap MS in combination with pyrolysis provides the ultimate tool for unknown component identification

This webinar is relevant for

Researchers from industry and battery technology fields who need to keep pace with current analytical techniques

Regulatory and Governmental laboratories

Battery manufacturers that are interested to understand more about the degradation of components and how to extend battery life times

Presenter: Dr. Nicholas Warner (Product Applications Specialist GC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Nicholas is a product specialist with a strong scientific background in GC and GC-MS applications. Originally from Canada, he has worked as an environmental researcher for 14 years within Norway before moving to join the Thermo Fisher Scientific team in Bremen, Germany in 2021. With a background in Environmental/Analytical chemistry, he is a specialist in the analysis of emerging harmful substances in the environment using gas chromatography mass spectrometry and high-resolution mass spectrometry.
