Thermo Scientific: New GC technology makes your day in the lab simpler and saves helium

How often do we wish for improvements in our daily laboratory routine that would make our work much easier!

It is not always necessarily about detection limits, analytical resolution, spectrum quality, calibration curves and similar product features.

You probably know these situations: fiddling with the flashlight to see something in the autosampler; stepping on the ladder in the lab to adjust the autosampler; the ferrule jumping off the column; the GC column being cut incorrectly; the tedious change of the ion source, sometimes just when you have a lot to do. Does this or a similar situation sound familiar?

Especially the current situation on the helium market shows how important it is to invest in new technology. We offer a unique solution to reduce helium consumption to 1 ml/min during operation. This way, a helium bottle does not last 5 months as usual, but up to 3.5 years!

In the webinar, Ms. Gerhards will present improvements to the new GC and GC-MS generation, which were developed with the wishes and suggestions of users in mind. After all, when working with the systems on a daily basis, it is often the small things that make a big difference.

In the webinar you will learn:
  • everything about the new tools in the new system that make everyday work in the GC lab easier
  • how to increase productivity
  • how to replace the ion source in less than 10 minutes
  • how you can effectively save helium
Who should attend:
  • lab managers
  • lab techniciens
  • anyone interested or involved in GC and GC-MS analysis

Presenter: Petra Gerhards (EMEA Regional Marketing Manager GC&GC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Petra holds a diploma engineer in instrumentalized analytical chemistry from the Technical University Krefeld/Germany. For more than 30 years, she worked in the field of GC and GC-MS and covered many technologies in GC and GC-MS. Currently, she supports users and customer application teams all over EMEA in her position as EMEA Regional Marketing Manager.
