In a bid to ensure to safety and quality before consumption, edible oil testing is seeing a definitive demand in the market. Manufacturers in conjunction with regulators are finding ways to bridge and improve the gaps in the current testing environment.

Agilent is collaborating with FSSAI, the premier statutory body for food safety and quality in India, to address the nuances of edible oil testing from the analytical point-of-view.

In this program, experts will broadly talk about edible oil analysis related to its fortification, adulteration, composition and additives.

Session 1: A simple and effective way to determine acrylamide in cooking oil

Presenter: Ansuman Mahato (Application Engineer (HPLC), Agilent Technologies)

Ansuman Mahato has been associated with Agilent Technologies as senior application specialist for 10+ years. He received his master’s degree from Bangalore University in Biotechnology. He carries rich experience on liquid chromatography instrumentations and his specialization areas are productivity enhancements for application of HPLC, UHPLC, GPC/SEC, 2D-LC etc. He leads corporate projects along with industry collaboration for new solution development as per regulatory requirements. He has been developing solutions for various market segments like BA-BE/Pharma/Biopharma, Food and Chemical.

Session 2: Importance of good sample management practices in edible oil workflows

Presenter: Amit Ghate (Application Specialist (Lab Informatics), Agilent Technologies)

Amit Ghate is currently working as Lab Informatics Application Specialist at Agilent Technologies. Amit comes from analytical software background where he has an in-depth knowledge of variety of software like Chromatography Data Systems, Data Management, LIMS, Electronic Lab Notebook, databases, reports and Compliance. Prior to joining Agilent, Amit worked with Persistent Systems Ltd as a Project Manager for software support and services. He has done his Masters in Bioinformatics from University of Pune. His main areas of interest is in providing workflow solutions and enabling digital transformation of labs.
