GC-MS to GC-MS-MS for Chemical Residue Analysis

RECORD | Already taken place We, 1.1.2020
Separation Science, in collaboration with Shimadzu, offers an on-demand presentation focusing on the transition of GC-MS methods to GC-MS-MS methods for the analysis of trace chemical residues.

Shimadzu: GC-MS to GC-MS-MS for Chemical Residue Analysis

Professor Nick Snow discusses the advantages of moving from GC to GC-MS, and then moving on an additional dimension to GC-MS-MS. He examines why GC is a great analytical tool for analysis of such compounds, and how GC-MS has really helped move chemical residue analysis forwards.

The presentation will provide fundamentals of GC-MS-MS, and what this technique 'brings to the table' over and above what is achievable by GC-MS. The talk will then go on to describe examples of transitioning from GC-MS to GC-MS-MS including steroids from water, fatty acid methyl esters, and pesticides.

Attendees to this presentation will learn about the questions they should be asking as they consider transitioning analytical methods and workflow from GC-MS to GC-MS-MS.

Presenter: Nick Snow (Professor and Chair of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Director of the Center for Academic Industry Partnership at Seton Hall University)
