INSTRUMENT OPERATOR

This is a full-time, day shift opportunity with the Inorganics Team at Springvale. The successful applicant will receive full on-the-job training.

The Role

ALS Springvale is seeking expressions of interest for 2x full time day shift instrument technicians to join our technical team.

  • PCT Operator

  • Skalar Operator

The successful applicants will be supported with on-the-job training to be able to independently operate, maintain and troubleshoot respective instruments.

These are excellent career growth opportunities for current staff to enhance their professional skills and technical expertise.

The Day to Day

  • Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Quality Procedures Manual

  • Prioritising daily workloads to report results in a timely manner

  • Operation and maintenance of instrumentation used in the inorganics section

  • Reporting of results in accordance to Quality Work Instructions

  • Ensuring compliance with the laboratory’s QC and HSE requirements

  • Preparing standards for sample analysis

  • Maintaining relevant documentation

The Essentials

  • Strong proven background of GLP compliance and high laboratory performance

  • Successfully completed a Bachelor or Honours degree (Chemistry major preferred) - preferred but essential

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level attention to detail

  • Good chemical knowledge

  • Demonstrated proficiency and technical understanding of ALS analytical procedures

  • Proven ability to plan and organise work and demanding workloads

  • Judgement and problem solving skills

  • Client service focus

  • Positive attitude to safety requirements

  • Appropriate level of aptitude on the tests allocated
