LABORATORY MANAGER
ALS Tribology, Seaview, is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to manage the existing team in the day-to-day running of the laboratory
About the Position
The Oil and Lubricants Division at our Seaview site, is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to manage the existing team in the day-to-day running of the laboratory. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced production orientated manager, or an experienced Lab Supervisor wanting to take that next step to lead a committed and dedicated team who continually strive to meet and exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Daily management of the laboratory’s testing operations.

Developing and fostering client and supplier relations.
-
Results approval, quality control and site compliance.
-
Leave coverage.
-
Leading and motivating teams in a fast paced laboratory environment
-
This role also offers the right candidate the chance to gain exposure to a wide and varied range of management disciplines in a multi-faceted Tribology laboratory including staff management, financial management and direct interaction with suppliers.
About you
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Sound analytical skills for reviewing and approving results
-
Strong technical ability with regards to maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment
-
Proven people management skills with a strong desire to develop, mentor and motivate people
-
Formal qualification in chemistry or related discipline
-
Demonstrated experience in people management
-
Experience in a Laboratory testing environment
-
As part of your development you will also be supported through training and mentoring programs provided by the senior management team.
