Agilent Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Tech, Lab Process/Production for its growing chemical standards manufacturing facility in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The manufacturing tech position is responsible for accurately acquiring, compiling, calculating and reporting instrument data. In addition, the Manufacturing Tech will also be a stakeholder in independent projects to support innovation.

QC Lab Technician (Manufacturing)

Summary of duties

  • Provide analytical testing support for chemical standards manufacturing. Communicate with management team and manufacturing to identify area of concerns or potential risks in the chemical standard supply chain.

  • Will work with Chemists and manufacturing teams to improve products, processes and components to meet agreed-upon objectives. May redesign products or components to meet cost objectives, component technology obsolescence and customer requirements.

  • May participate in new product introduction, including testing the design of the product to ensure manufacturability and conformance with the global supply chain, enabling prototyping while in the R&D lab, testing the reliability of prototypes and managing the transition into production.

  • Supports and implements the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production and through the entire life cycle of the product.

  • Proposes and participates in continuous improvement to reduce cost and improve site Gross Margins.

  • Assists development projects requiring coordination with other functions, suppliers. Solves problems varying in scope and complexity.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent.

  • 0 - 5 years work experience in an analytical laboratory environment.

  • Experience with gas or liquid chromatography, including knowledge of basic chromatographic principles and troubleshooting methods.

  • Understanding of key customer quality requirements for the laboratory consumables market.

  • Computer proficiency in office productivity tools such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team on quality investigations and deliver process and product improvements.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentation experience.

  • Knowledge and experience in statistical data analysis techniques.

  • Skills in multi-tasking, planning and organizing workload.

  • Talent for establishing and maintaining positive work relationships.

Preferred Skills and Experience include:

  • Experience working with Agilent GC, LC and/or GC/MS and LC/MS instrumentation and software (chemstation, open lab, masshunter).

  • Experience working in GLP/ISO compliant environments

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS requirements.

  • Knowledge of ion chromatography, icp-oes, icp-ms.

The US pay range for this full-time position is $28.83 - $45.04/hr, plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum new hire pay for the position across the relevant US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
