At Metrohm Central Africa, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our growing team in Ghana. As part of a globally recognised organisation known for precision, quality and innovation in analytical instrumentation, you will play a key role in driving product success, market growth and customer engagement across our scientific solutions portfolio.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing product strategies, identifying new business opportunities, supporting commercial activities and strengthening relationships with customers and industry stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Portfolio Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Develop and execute product strategies from launch to maturity to drive revenue, market share, and profitability.
- Market Development & Business Growth: Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory shifts to identify new opportunities and support targeted marketing campaigns.
- Sales Support & Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary product expert in delivering technical presentations, leading product demonstrations, and supporting high-value tenders and sales opportunities.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate closely with global product divisions and build strong relationships with key industry opinion leaders, customers, and partners.
- Reporting & Market Feedback: Track KPIs, manage CRM data, and funnel customer insights and market requirements back to R&D and global Product Managers for continuous product improvement.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in analytical instrumentation, laboratory technologies, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Instrumentation, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field. An advanced degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in analytical instrumentation, laboratory technologies, product management, technical sales, business development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory workflows.
- Proven experience in product portfolio management, market development, or strategic business growth.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate technical solutions into customer value.
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel more than 30% of his/her time to meet customers, partners, and attend industry events.
