Job Description

Join our team as a Senior Sales Operations Analyst and contribute to commercial excellence at Thermo Fisher Scientific. You'll collaborate with sales leadership to optimize processes, analyze performance data, and implement strategies that enable our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This position combines analytical expertise with strategic thinking to enhance sales effectiveness across our organization. You'll use advanced tools and technologies to provide data-driven insights that inform business decisions and support growth.

Working collaboratively, you'll develop and maintain reporting and analytics capabilities, manage sales operations processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly impact our ability to serve customers across research, clinical, and commercial production, helping advance scientific breakthroughs and improve healthcare outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales data and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve sales processes and increase revenue.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and finance, to drive alignment and achieve business objectives.
  • Create and maintain sales reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Create and deliver data-driven presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to conduct in-depth analyses and forecasting.
  • Monitor and track sales performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Identify and address potential issues or challenges in the sales process and propose solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to data privacy and security.
  • Continuously seek out opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in the sales database.
  • Construct funnel analysis to drive a more efficient and predictable sales cycle.
  • Plan and guide strategic sales operations projects, including customer proposals, implementation of new sales support tools and systems, and sales incentive strategy.
  • Serve as the liaison between the sales organization and all internal operational groups to ensure collaborative and effective partnerships to drive sales force.
  • Lead the development, communication, and implementation of Service Level Agreements for assigned customers with all support functions.
  • Coordinate with Practical Process Improvement teams and corporate, to ensure alignment of projects and activities.
  • Build and develop Standard Operating Procedures with process improvement, effectiveness, and quality teams.
  • Work with Finance and other functions to standardize reporting and find opportunities to provide strategic business trends.
  • Understand, collect, and integrate customers’ expectations of operational performance.
  • Translate regional capabilities (system, process, and resource) into realistic commitments for our customers.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales Operations or similar role in Healthcare or Life Sciences.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record in dealing with highly ambiguous problems and driving simple solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong familiarity with project management standards and methodologies.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of driving sales performance and achieving targets.
  • Highly analytical, can leverage raw unorganized data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, Salesforce.com
  • Expert level experience with MS Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Python knowledge preferred.
  • Experience designing enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of data warehousing, vault and data privacy techniques.
  • Ability to work within a fast paced, nimble, matrix environment and global company.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma and equivalent qualification a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,000.00–$135,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
