Technical Service Specialist I
As a Technical Service Specialist at Restek, you will be a key technical resource for our global customers and distributors, providing expert guidance on product selection, troubleshooting, and application support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, enjoys communicating scientific concepts, and values collaboration across departments. You'll play a critical part in reinforcing Restek’s reputation for exceptional customer service by delivering timely, accurate, and professional support. In addition to direct customer interaction, you’ll contribute to cross-functional initiatives, support sales and marketing efforts, and help drive continuous improvement in our technical service strategy.

What You’ll Do
- Respond to technical inquiries from customers via phone and email, ensuring prompt and professional service
- Stay current with customer needs and product applications tomaintaintechnicalproficiency
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Quality, and Customer Service teams to resolve customer issues
- Learn and communicate product features and benefits through ongoing training
- Maintain accurate customer records, inquiries, and resolutions in CRM and ERP systems
- Provide technical training to internal staff as needed
- Represent Restek at trade shows and customer visits
- Monitor competitor and industrywebsites asassigned
- Suggest process improvements to elevate global technical service operations
- Support GC/LC Applications Lab activities including EZ libraries, literature generation, and application notes
- Perform additional tasks and special projects as needed
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or 8 years of equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in gas or liquid chromatography (GC or LC)
- Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to various audiences
- Proficient in email, spreadsheet, and database tools
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service mindset and attention to detail
- Effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Collaborative team player in a global work environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and suggest improvements
This position will require the successful completion of a standard background check in accordance with Restek policy. Employment with Restek will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
This position has been approved for a hybrid work arrangement.
