To support the current business growth, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic person to help develop post sales Application Support capabilities. You will be part of a professional team of a Field Service Application Engineers across Europe who are responsible for implementing solutions for the full portfolio of Agilent GC-MS products, with an initial focus on GC-MS SQ, QQQ and QTOF addressing the customer’s analytical needs.

The role will be pivotal to Agilent solution-based provision, spending your time supporting our customers hardware & software and delivering Application and Consultation services (at the system/solutions level) realising the full potential of the system to drive customer capabilities and their outcomes.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out end-to-end application-based consulting during customer on-boarding processes.
  • Provide extended training beyond familiarization that may include method transfer, development and optimization.
  • Work closely with our instrument Sales team, Pre-Sales Application Engineers and Product Specialist to understand the customer expectations, along with any presales development that is to be transitioned to the customers instrumentation successfully.
  • Support our GC-MS customers to ensure they enhance their return on investment.
  • Solve instrument application problems and/or escalations using your expertise and application knowledge to ensure we achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Support Agilent Field Service Engineers onsite or remotely, and collaborate with presales application team, product specialists, tech support and R&D for improved speed to resolution.
  • Carry out application-based consulting.
  • Develop Field Service Engineers applications/workflow capabilities through, mentoring on site, remote and face-to-face workshops.

For this role, you will be covering Switzerland and will travel around the country to customer site. Occasionally, travelling across border into France or the wider European region can be required.

Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated individual with the following background:

  • University Degree in a Life Science related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, etc…)
  • Significant hands-on experience with GC/GC-MS either as an end user, a Field Service Engineer or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of/ experience with Agilent solutions would be a strong advantage
  • fluent in German and English

On a personal level, you have great communication & presentation skills to interact with many internal partners (direct peers, sales, pre-sales, etc…) and clients. You are outgoing, customer/service oriented and you show flexibility. Finally, you enjoy working both autonomously and as part of a team.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
