Deputy Principal Scientist - Organics
ALS Laboratories are looking for a Deputy Principal Scientist for the Organics team in Coventry. This role requires someone who can ensure existing methodologies are fit for purpose whilst also maintaining the companies position at the forefront of technology. Key Responsibilities
- Develop methodologies from scratch for Organic department and ensuring a smooth introduction into routine use.
- Identify potential issues before they arise and work to pro-actively resolve these.
- Implementing innovative solutions and improved / new procedures.
- Provide marketing literature on new methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of instrument software
- Provide training to members of the team.
- Adhere to Health and Safety and Company policies and procedures.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and ensure new and existing methodologies meet the required specifications.
- To work with the team to improve the safety, environment, and general health of the staff.
About You
- Minimum of degree or equivalent in a related subject area.
- In-depth knowledge of analytical and instrumentation techniques (GC, GCMS, LCMS)
- Significant experience in the development and validation of methods to meet the requirements of ISO 17025
- Experience in training and assessing competency.
- Technical background with ability to troubleshoot instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficient in IT and communication skills
- Ability to evaluate critically and draw conclusions from scientific and other data.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your own work and others in the team.
- Attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records.
