China GC Columns Applications Scientist
gilent Technologies is committed to being the premier laboratory partner for a better world by providing exceptional analytical capabilities in GC chromatography to our customers. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of GC workflows designed to enhance GC and GC/MS sample preparation, method development and data analysis to enable analysis of a wide range of compounds in different matrices.
The candidate will also ensure the success of the product by generating training materials and supporting our field colleagues in China as a GC and GC/MS workflow expert. The candidate is expected to have and maintain broad state-of-the-art knowledge of food, environmental and forensic sample prep workflows, gas chromatography, and mass spectrometry. The successful candidate should have a strong background in assay development including knowledge of legacy food and environmental protocols, EPA approved methods and familiarity with emerging GC related analytical trends.
She/he will be a member of the product marketing team based in China that develops new methodologies, brings them to market, and publishes application notes using these workflows. The successful candidate will design and execute experiments required to create reproducible and robust workflows and to generate the literature required for customers to rapidly adopt these workflows in everyday use.
The candidate will also serve as a technical expert. These duties will include but are not limited to customer presentations, troubleshooting assistance, and China field support.
Qualifications
- At least five years of experience with GC and GC/MS workflows in key markets with at least two years in a commercial environment.
- Possess strong communication skills and be willing to travel to present at conferences and at customer sites.
- Work independently and be self-motivated but also contributes to the success of multidiscipline teams.
- Ph.D degree in the field of chemistry, analytical chemistry, food science, or related fields is strongly desired; or Master Degree with equivalent of related working experience;
- Industry experience in Pharma, Chemical, Energy is desired.
- Experience with sample preparation highly desired.
