Field Service Engineer - Gas Chromatography

You will be responsible for supporting our clients with on-site installation, implementation, maintenance and delivery of customer training on our gas chromatography solutions (GC/GC-MS)
Your main responsibilities will be
- Respond to customer needs by providing repair, installation, upgrade and preventive maintenance activities
- Contact customers in a timely manner and schedules service efficiently
- Connect with manager and sales team to understand and meet customer needs and expectations
- Maintain Agilent’s customer service reputation by aligning with all corporate policies and procedures
- Complete administrative paperwork and computer reports promptly and accurately
- Provide feedback to the Product Specialists, manufacturing or OEM vendors concerning performance anomalies encountered - use the complaint handling system as required
- Address customer requests for service and communicate proactively before, during and after service
For this role, you will be working remotely combined with travel to customer sites in the South-East of the UK (with occasional nights away), and especially the London-Cambridge-Oxford triangle (a company car will be available to you).
Qualifications
We are looking for an individual with the following background:
- Ideally university degree in a Chemistry related field (Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, etc…)
- Significant hands-on experience with gas chromatography (GC/GC-MS) techniques, either as an end-user OR in a similar technical support role
- Application knowledge/experience would be an advantage
- Full proficiency in English
- A valid driving license
