Scientist - Inorganic Chemist
Your Role:
Millipore Sigma, Round Rock, is seeking to hire an experienced Inorganic Chemist for its Analytical Quality Control (AQC) operations. The individual will be responsible for testing of neat materials and reference standard products primarily by ICP-MS, ICP-OES, TOC and IC. Additional testing, such as, HPLC, GC, LC/MS, GC/MS, KF, ROI and/or NMR assigned as needed and in alignment with experience. Specific responsibilities include:
- Use experience and education to solve problems, optimize processes, and develop new processes and methods
- Maintain and qualify analytical instrumentation
- Review data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with quality requirements
- Develop and validate methods
- Respond efficiently to evolving priorities
Physical Attributes:
- Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or hazardous chemicals
- Particular vision specifications: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision, and adjust focus
- May wear: air helmet, mask, safety shoes, apron, rubber and Tyvek suits, protective gloves, safety glasses, or goggles
- Occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Sciences discipline
- 4+ years experience performing inorganic chemistry in a regulated environment (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO)
OR
- Master’s Degree in Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Sciences discipline
- 3+ years experience performing inorganic chemistry in a regulated environment (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an analytical lab analyzing neat materials for chemical purity and assay for concentration
- Proficiency in technical fundamentals, organizational skills, documentation, and effective communication
- Experience in operating, maintaining, and interpreting data from IC, TOC, ICP‑MS and/or ICP-OES instrumentation.
- Experience with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
- Thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and quality-oriented regulated environment
- Thrive in fast-paced environments while working effectively with a team
