Supervisor, Analytical Quality Control Scientist
Your Role:
Millipore Sigma, Round Rock, is seeking to hire an experienced Analytical Scientist/Supervisor for its Analytical Quality Control (AQC) operations. The individual will be responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager for oversight of operations within Quality Control. This includes personnel management, safety, quality, scheduling, budgets, metrics, regulatory compliance, and testing. Specific responsibilities include:
- Solve problems, optimize processes, develop new processes and prepare procedures
- Scheduling production project
- Reviewing test and validation plans
- Leading out-of-specification investigations
- Providing guidance and oversight to direct reports
- Help develop strategies and plans to optimize group performance
- Support the development of team members
- Oversee the maintenance and qualification of analytical instrumentation
- Review data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with quality requirements
- Manage method development and validation
- Respond efficiently to evolving priorities
Physical Attributes:
- Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or hazardous chemicals
- Particular vision specifications: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision, and adjust focus
- May wear: air helmet, mask, safety shoes, apron, rubber and Tyvek suits, protective gloves, safety glasses, or goggles
- Occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Sciences discipline
- 10+ years experience performing quality control and/or analytical chemistry in a regulated environment (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO)
- 1+ years of experience directly supervising or managing personnel
OR
- Experience in an analytical lab analyzing neat materials and finished product in Quality Control
- Proficiency in technical fundamentals, organizational skills, documentation, and effective communication
- Experience in analytical chemistry techniques including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, IR, ROI, LOD, Karl Fischer, NMR, ICP, IC and GC-Headspace
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience working in an analytical testing lab with hazardous and toxic chemicals
- Effective technical writing skills to generate development reports
