2024BL03 - LT1 - Laboratory Technician
Location: ALS Oil & Lubricants, Burlington
Reports to: Laboratory Supervisor
Classification: LT1 - $18.29
About the Position
The Laboratory Technician 1 will assist in day-to-day operation of the laboratory and contribute to the overall productivity of the lab.
Specific Responsibilities
Standardize equipment as needed;
Process samples according to SOPs;
Data entry results;
Ensure the quality of the analytical data meets ALS standards and strict QA/QC requirements;
Meet Turn Around Times (TAT) and hold times;
Perform routine maintenance and ensure that instrumentation is in good working order;
Keep registers up to date;
General laboratory clean-up and maintenance;
Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Organized with proven ability to work to deadlines;
Highly motivated;
Detail oriented;
Able to work independently and as part of a team;
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal);
Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Required Qualifications
College Diploma or University Degree with Chemical background;
Lab experience an asset;
Ability to process data, data reviewing;
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel.
Physical Demands
Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
Ability to stand for up to a full shift;
Lift and carry up to 30 lbs;
You may be exposed to unpleasant odours.
