SUPPORT & APPLICATION SPECIALIST – CHEMICAL INSTRUMENTATION EQUIPMENT
As a market leader in the analytical chemistry, electrochemistry and ion analysis sector, and due to recent expansion and promotions, Metrohm Romania is currently seeking to recruit a Support & Application Specialist, to join the Technical Department based at the Romanian headquarters in Bucharest, Romania.
We are looking for someone with experience in instrumentation and/or working in a laboratory environment wanting to venture into a new role. Ideally you have experience in support, application, maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory instruments.

As a successful Metrohm Support & Application Specialist you will apply your instrument/chemistry knowledge and technical experience to solve customer’s instrumentation issues and ensure optimal system performance.
On-site support may include demonstrations, installations, develop applications, preventive maintenance, certification, refresher training and more.
You will get to travel to a diverse group of labs, meet different people and see various instrument applications at work.
You will have the resources to support the client face to face, via phone, email and remote access software.
The ability to juggle/prioritize a busy schedule over a large territory is essential; positive customer relations, as well as good collaboration with local Sales colleagues and Customer support, ensure sure-fire success in this role.
Significant field travel will be required.
Active opportunities to work with our applications lab, participating in demos or custom instrument builds in our service center, and the occasional customer site visits ensures functional variety and will help keep your mechanical skills honed.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
BS degree (or higher) in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry is high priority), understands laboratory instrumentation.
Strong knowledge and hand-on experience with various instrumentation Titration, Karl Fischer titration, Ion Chromatography, Spectroscopy and Electrochemistry.
Experience in maintaining analytical instrumentation.
Experience in the calibration and troubleshooting of instruments.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Extraordinary organizational skills to balance customer visits and requests, documentation and reporting to supervisors and management.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft D365, Field & Customer Service, Networking.
This position requires a highly motivated individual that is capable of completing assigned tasks with little to no supervision.
Excellent communication skills.
Fluent Romanian & English (spoken and written).
Clean driving license type B.
Availability to travel within Romania and abroad.
A reliable, self-driven and motivated person, hardworking, responsible, with good interpersonal, organization, negotiation and presentation skills, a strong team player, willing to learn and flexible, experienced in sales and/or applications.
Responsibilities:
The position is based in Bucharest, with support responsibilities for all of Romania as well as Republic of Moldova (required occasionally).
Duties include, but are not limited to: demonstrations, develop new applications, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, installation and calibration activities.
Install Metrohm instrumentation at customer sites and provide associated training; entailing prolonged.
Travel and potential overnight stays away from home. (Such duties will only be performed upon completion of relevant training).
Supporting customer demonstrations via the preparation and timely transportation of instrumentation.
Assist in the daily running of the Applications Laboratory, for example, monitoring consumable stock levels and equipment locations, ensuring that the environment is kept clean and tidy at all times etc.
Inventory and time management is crucial.
Must be able to complete administrative tasks associated with field service.
