The fate of the ever increasing amount of plastic waste in our planet is a major global concern. In the Gonsales Lab we are excited to work towards ways of addressing it, such as through chemical recycling and upcycling, as well as through synthesis of new degradable polymers.
Job description
A postdoctoral position in the joint laboratory of IOCB Prague and the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, Chemical Recycling of Plastic Waste and Sustainable Polymers headed by Dr. Stella Gonsales, is available for a highly motivated and creative scientist.
The aim of the project is the development of methods and catalysts for the chemical recycling of polyolefins and for the synthesis of degradable polymers. The selected candidate will perform daily experiments using air-free techniques and will acquire experience in synthesizing and characterizing organometallic compounds as well as polymeric materials using standard techniques such as NMR, FTIR, and GPC (for polymeric materials).
