Job Description

Wasson-ECE is looking to hire for an entry-level Chemist position in the Gas Chromatography Applications Department.

A successful candidate will be primarily responsible for applicating custom scientific equipment per the customer’s specification.
-
They will need knowledge to be able to create a specific laboratory test program for each system and then execute it in a timely and efficient manner to meet project deadlines.

They will be expected to use analytical and problem-solving skills in order to overcome any problems that may arise during application.

While mostly working independently, the hired applicant will also need to work well as part of a team.

They may eventually help with customer support over the phone as well as traveling to customer sites for installation and service support.

The hired candidate must be a self-starter, able to communicate clearly, and be detail oriented.

They will be working as part of a laboratory team and should be able to ask for help when needed.

Will also be expected to follow all safety rules in the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop laboratory test program based on instrumentation and customer specifications

Method application

Operate analytical instrumentation with little oversight

Perform data analysis

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

Efficiently test custom hardware to meet project deadlines

Performs special projects as required

Strictly adheres to all safety, health, and environment processes and procedures

Position will have no supervisory authority
Work Environment, Schedule and Benefits

Work will generally be conducted in the lab and production environment, working at a desk, and require light lifting

This position may require business travel up to 10%

Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with additional late evening and weekend as the job duties demand

Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic computer skills including use of Windows, Microsoft Office

Familiarity with Agilent Technologies’ OpenLAB software, preferred but not required

Availability and ability to work late evening and/or weekend as required

Must have the ability to work as a team member or independently as required
