The Regional Meeting is intended to provide a forum for meeting in presence for those who want and can travel despite the ongoing pandemic situation that forced ISE to move another Annual Meeting to an online format. The Regional Meeting will complement the regular Annual Meeting (online) and Topical Meetings. The meeting is open to electrochemists of all career stages and in all fields of electrochemical science and technology. It will feature a simple structure of seven parallel symposia featuring no plenary lectures providing the basic opportunity to present and network.
Prague has been a cultural centre landmark of Central Europe for more than thousand years. Its historical centre has been featured on the UNESCO cultural heritage list since 1992. Prague has played the role of a political and economic hub of the region for many centuries. Today’s Prague is a vibrant city merging architectural monuments of all styles with modern infrastructure. Prague was a melting pot alloying various cultural influences of and represents a bridge between West and East of Europe. Many tourists visit the city to immerse themselves in its special atmosphere.
Prague is a city devoted to electrochemistry and witnessed the birth of polarography. Its inventor Jaroslav Heyrovsky, the first Nobel prize winner for electrochemical research, was professionally active in Prague for almost half a century, and the electrochemical research in Prague still runs strong today. Prague was a proud host of major electrochemical meetings and the local community is thrilled to welcome the electrochemical community once more in 2022.
To promote the attendance of our young colleagues at this in presence Regional Meeting, ISE Divisions decided to offer limited number of:
Fellowships for PhD student and 2 postdoc.
The fellowships, in the amount of the registration fee, will be paid directly by the Divisions to the conference budget. The applicants should be ISE members in good standing and should apply for the Fellowship before April 30th 2022, sending an email to ISE Division chairs. The application mail should include a Motivation letter, copy of the abstract submitted for the Regional Meeting (including identification number) and a short CV which must include information on previously attended meetings indicating if the applicant attended online or in presence. A committee will select the winners before the end of May.
We do hope that you decide to be part of the Regional Meeting.
Scientific Scope
The Regional meeting will provide a platform to present and discuss the most recent developments in all fields of electrochemistry including analytical applications, bioelectrochemistry, electrochemical energy storage, material electrochemistry, molecular electrochemistry and physical and theoretical electrochemistry.
The meeting does not plan for plenary sessions and the program of individual Symposia will be highlighted with a limited number of Keynote and Invited lectures. We expect to be able to host around 700 attendees.
