Serving as a retention gap or guard column, it traps non-volatile residues and contaminants before they reach the analytical column, thereby extending column lifetime and maintaining consistent peak shapes. The UltiMetal Plus deactivation ensures excellent inertness, eliminating analyte adsorption and improving response linearity, even for active compounds such as acids, amines, and phenols.

This guard column is compatible with Agilent DB, HP, and CP series as well as columns from other manufacturers, and it easily connects via standard GC column connectors.
